August 23, 2012

You will be seeing the face of the great footballer Pelé all over the place in the next four years. For the Brazilian football star has signed a multi-million pound deal to be one of the faces of Brazil’s build-up to 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Pelé, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, has signed a four-year deal with MediaCom Sport, which allows them to use his face in national, regional and global advertising.

Acclaimed as the best football player of all time, Pelé is set to communicate his passion for humanitarianism, cultural diversity and sport as a voice on the world advertising stage.

Stephen Allan, worldwide chairman and CEO of MediaCom, said: “Beyond his footballing achievements, Pelé has an incredible story to tell from the poverty of his upbringing to his humanitarian work since he retired from professional sports.”
