Pampas and Iguazu Argentina

Overview

Your tour begins in the bright and lively capital Buenos Aires, where you can take some famous sites of the city as well as a spectacular Tango show!

After some time exploring the city, head into the countryside to the vast expanses of the incredible Pampas. Stay on a traditional Estancia and experience the life of a Gaucho (cowboy)! Get hands-on, helping out with the livestock, take a leisurely horse and cart ride around the grounds and enjoy traditional cuisine with a delicious asado! A real countryside experience that will completely immerse you in this fantastic way of life.

Next you will head up to the Brazilian border for a natural wonder that is on everyone's bucket list - the breath-taking Iguazú falls! Experience this majestic wonder from both the Argentinian side and the Brazilian side getting as close as possible to this unbelievable site!

The final stop is back to Buenos Aires to wish Argentina Farewell!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival - Buenos Aires
Today you arrive in the capital Buenos Aires where your guide will be waiting for you in Ezeiza International Airport and take you to your hotel in the city centre.

Day 2: Buenos Aires
This morning embark on a premium city tour of Buenos Aires ( around 3 hours) exploring some fascinating beautiful and fascinating sites of the capital! You have the afternoon to relax and explore the city in your own time before a spectacular evening tango show with dinner!

Day 3: Buenos Aires - San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires Pampas
Today transfer to The Argentinean Pampas (from Quechua, meaning "plain") - this area is extremely fertile South American lowlands, covering more than 750,000 km2 (289,577 sq mi) in total! These plains contain unique wildlife including the rhea, the pampas deer, several species of armadillos, the pampas fox etc. After around an hours drive from Buenos Aires, you will arrive at a traditional Estancia (ranch) where you will spend the next
two nights. You have the afternoon to enjoy the facilities of the ranch where you can immerse yourself in the lifestyle of an Argentinian Gaucho (cowboy)!

Day 4: San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires Pampas
You have the whole day today to enjoy the ranch life! Guests are welcome to observe and take part in the various stockrearing activities as they happen on the ranch: milking, driving cattle to harness, vaccination, ear-tagging, de-horning, branding, etc. Explore the 300-hectare (ca 750 acre) Estancia on foot or, accompanied by seasoned gauchos, on one of the 38 horses that are part of the working drove. Horse drawn carriages are also available. Those that want to learn some of the thousand species of Argentinean birds are provided binoculars and guide books too!

Day 5: San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires Pampas - Iguazú
Take a private transfer from the ranch to the airport for your short internal flight to Iguazú. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel for the evening.

Day 6: Iguazú
Today enjoy a full day excursion to see the Argentinian side of the spectacular Iguazu Falls: 275 waterfalls that reach an altitude of almost 260 feet. They were declared one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.The Lower Circuit is composed of a trail approximately 8 miles long that allows you to get close to some of the smaller waterfalls on the Argentinian side. Walk along the trail, and get close to the Carlos Bozzetti Waterfall. The Upper Circuit allows you to see the top of the majestic falls on the Argentina side and enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of the area. Optional Tour (not included): Get up very close to the waterfalls on the ‘Great Adventure’ boat trip. Make sure you take a change of clothing as you will get wet!

Day 7: Iguazú
Today you will leave Argentina and cross the border into Iguaçu National Park on the Brazilian side of the Falls. Here you'll get a close-up view of Devil´s Throat, which is best seen from the Brazilian side. Watch as 14 falls drop 350 feet! This area is famous for its picturesque rainbow. For a close-up of the falls, walk through the park’s subtropical forest to the base of Salto Floriano. Then take the elevator to the top of the falls, or walk out over the falls at Salto Union. After the tour, take a transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires where you spend the night in a hotel in the city centre.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the Airport in Buenos Aires for your onward flight.

    International Flights
    Getting to Argentina is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Tango Tours are experienced in planning flights and we are very happy to advise you on the different choices available. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    Internal Flights
    As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    Payments
    To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.

    Accommodation
    Let us know what standard of accommodation you require for your tour - we offer a range of standards to suit your requirements. These are subject to availability.
