Including a former public prison building. It sounds strange but this fascinating piece of history stands tall and proud, now housing a tourist centre. Definitely worth a visit!
After exploring Fortaleza a little in your own time as well, the tour moves on to Natal - Capital city of the Rio Grande do Nortel area. Driving along the coastal road is a great way to see the golden beaches and turquoise sea of this stunning area as well as some historical points of interest along the way.
Hit the downtown next for the Nossa Senhora da Apresentação Church, the Palácio Potengi and the residential districts of Santos Reis, Rocas and Ribeira, before stopping to peruse some excellent handicrafts of the area.
A short flight North brings you to Recife. A favorite for any visitor to Brazil, this pleasant and varied city has a lot to offer from golden beaches and natural swimming pools to impressive architecture and ancient monasteries. Ending with a breathtaking panoramic view of Recife and the surrounding landscape this place really is a treat!
Your final days in Brazil are spent in the fantastic city of Salvador where you will have a very informative tour of some incredible churches, bays and the new and old parts pf town, as well as your own time to make the most of the last days of addictive Brazilian culture!

Day 1: Arrival - Fortaleza
Upon arrival, you will be met in Fortaleza and taken to your hotel for the evening.
Day 2: Fortaleza
After breakfast, go for a sightseeing ride through the city lasting about 3 hours, full of beauty, packed with emotions and pleasant surprises Fortaleza is today the country’s 5th largest capital in the number of inhabitants, however it has still retained its quiet, peaceful and hospitable atmosphere. You will visit the modern downtown - teeming with top-rate hotels, international class restaurants and excellent entertainment, as well as the old town which is has preserved the best of its past and traditions. Your visit then goes on to a number of fascinating modern and traditional attractions - The old light-house in Mucuripe, Our Lady of assumption fortress, The Historical and Anthropological Museum, The Central Place, the former Public Prison building (now turned into an up-to-date tourist center). Return to the hotel where you have the rest of the day to relax and explore the area a little by yourself.
Day 3: Fortaleza - Natal
After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Fortaleza airport for your short flight to Natal, the Capital city of Rio Grande do Nortel. Upon Arrival, our guide will assist you during the transfer and accommodation at the selected hotel. You then have the afternoon free to explore the area, indulge in some culinary delights, chat with the locals or just enjoy the hotel!
Day 4: Natal
After breakfast, the day starts by getting to know the city of Natal. The tour travels along the Via Costeira (Coast Road) passing by the Areia Preta’s Beach, Artista’s Beach, Meio’s Beach, Forte’s Beach and Rei Mago ́s Fortress - this beautiful 17th century building exists due to the battles on the coast between the Portuguese and the Dutch. Approaching downtown there’s the Nossa Senhora da Apresentação Church, the Palácio Potengi and the residential districts of Santos Reis, Rocas and Ribeira. Our Final stop is at the Tourist Centre, where you can find local souvenirs shops with handicrafts unique to the Northeast. Return to the hotel for the evening for a well-deserved rest!
Day 5: Natal - Recife
After breakfast, our guide will assist you to your transfer to Natal International airport, to catch a short flight to Recife where you will stay in a hotel this evening.
Day 6: Recife
After Breakfast, you start off on a pleasant panoramic tour, starting at Boa Viagem beach, with its reefs, natural swimming pools of warm waters and the beauty of the coconut trees it's truly stunning. You will also see the historical centre, with its eclectic architecture, old churches and the centennial bridges that were a mark of Recife into urbanization. Head on to Olinda, with its convents, monasteries and churches said to be built with art and with faith. Explore the narrow streets with colonial houses then battle the exotic slopes that lead to the cities highest point, the Alto da Sé. Totally worth the walk as it leads to a splendid view of Recife,of the surrounding islands and of the huge beach area.
Day 7: Recife - Salvador
After breakfast, our guide will assist you to Recife International airport, to catch a short flight to Salvador. Here you have the rest of the day to explore this lovely city.
Day 8: Salvador
Today you start the day on a historical tour around Salvador. Beginning with the modern suburb of Barra at the mouth of the Bay with its famous lighthouse, then slowly by car or coach, making your way to the old historical section of town, the Pelourinho - with the largest and best preserved complex of colonial architecture in the America's. Stroll through the narrow, bustling streets lined with buildings in pastel shades of an age gone by, soaking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city before a visit to the church of São Francisco with its exuberant gold-leafed Baroque interior and on to the Pelourinho square, the heart of the old town. Driving back by an alternative route, this tour shows two distinct aspects of Salvador, the new and the old, concentrating on the early expansion of the city and is a very good orientation for those wishing to further explore the city.
Day 9: Departure
After Breakfast, you transfer to Salvador international airport for your onward flight!

In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
