The Best of Argentina


Exploration, magnificent sights and a range of exciting activities give travellers a truly rewarding experience in Argentina. Your tour begins in the enticing and compelling city of Buenos Aires, where you can take in everything from tango dancing to architecture and great food to historical sites.

Next you go onto Mendoza: wine country! Famous for producing some of the world's best wine, take an excellent wine tour of the region and relax in the stunning surroundings of snow-capped peaks and picturesque vineyards. Learn all about wine production and sample some of the best wine around partnered with sublime gourmet cuisine!

The tour then heads to the northeast of Argentina to Iguazú, where you will enjoy two excursions to see the outstanding Iguazú waterfalls from both the Brazilian and Argentine perspectives- another area of incredible natural beauty that cannot be missed!


Day 1: Arrival - Buenos Aires
Today you arrive in beautiful Buenos Aires! Your guide will be waiting for you in the Airport and you will be taken to your hotel in the centre of the city. The rest of the day is yours to explore this exciting city.

Day 2: Buenos Aires
After breakfast you will have a full city tour of the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, where you will see a multitude of historical monuments, colonial architecture and atmospheric neighbourhoods. With the afternoon to relax and explore the city by yourself you can really immerse yourself in its charms. In the evening you will be treated to a professional tango show and 3-course dinner - your first taste of incredible Argentinian cuisine!

Day 3: Buenos Aires - Mendoza
Today take a short internal flight to Mendoza, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the evening.

Day 4: Mendoza
Today travel through the stunning countryside of Mendoza for a full day wine tour! You will travel to either the Lujan de Cuyo or Maipu area - some of the best areas in the world for wine production. Famous for their incredible Malbecs, among others, learn all about the wine making process as well as, of course, a tasting! Enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch surrounded by the picturesque scenery of this stunning area.

Day 5: Mendoza - Buenos Aires - Iguazú
Today take a short flight back to Buenos Aires for another internal flight onto Iguazú. You will be collected from the airport and taken to your hotel near the iconic falls!

Day 6: Iguazú
Today enjoy a full day excursion to see the Argentinian side of the spectacular Iguazu Falls: 275 waterfalls that reach an altitude of almost 260 feet. They were declared one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.The Lower Circuit is composed of a trail approximately 8 miles long that allows you to get close to some of the smaller waterfalls on the Argentinian side. Walk along the trail, and get close to the Carlos Bozzetti Waterfall. The Upper Circuit allows you to see the top of the majestic falls on the Argentina side and enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of the area. Optional Tour (not included): Get up very close to the waterfalls on the ‘Great Adventure’ boat trip. Make sure you take a change of clothing as you will get wet!

Day 7: Iguazú
Today you will leave Argentina and cross the border into Iguaçu National Park on the Brazilian side of the Falls. Here you'll get a close-up view of Devil´s Throat, which is best seen from the Brazilian side. Watch as 14 falls drop 350 feet! This area is famous for its picturesque rainbow. For a close-up of the falls, walk through the park’s subtropical forest to the base of Salto Floriano. Then take the elevator to the top of the falls, or walk out over the falls at Salto Union. After the tour, take a transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires where you spend the night in a hotel in the city centre.

Day 8: Depature
Take a private transfer to the airport for your onward travel.

    International Flights
    Getting to Argentina is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Tango Tours are experienced in planning flights and we are very happy to advise you on the different choices available. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    Internal Flights
    As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
