Next head to beautiful Mendoza where you are treated to a fantastic wine tour in the stunning Lujan de Cuyo Region as well as some spare time to explore the city and embrace its relaxed, laid-back charm that you will never want to leave behind! Mendoza is famous for being a 'trap' where people come to visit and end up staying for a long time, and we can see why!
But the next adventure is well worth moving on for! Head into the North West of Argentina to the city of Salta. Take a tour of the charismatic city itself before heading onto a series of awe-inspiring journeys into the wilds! This terrain and surrounding geology is truly unique and has to be seen to be believed! Pass by the famous 'Seven Coloured Hill' covered with stripes of vibrant, mysterious shades as well as stopping at small towns that seem to be in the middle of nowhere and are an off the beaten track gem that you will just love!
Round off your adventure by visiting the magnificent Iguazú waterfalls and feel the power of 275 waterfalls all cascading down together. The noise and strength of these falls is like nothing else you will ever experience! An epic end to an incredible journey!
Day 1: Arrival - Buenos Aires
Today you arrive in Buenos Aires. Your guide will be waiting for you in Ezezia International Airport and will take you to your hotel in the centre of the city. You will have the rest of the day to relax and explore what this charismatic city has to offer.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
This morning embark on a premium city tour of Buenos Aires (around 3 hours) exploring some fascinating beautiful and fascinating sites of the capital! You have the afternoon to relax and explore the city in your own time before a spectacular evening tango show with dinner!
Day 3: Buenos Aires
You have the whole day free today to explore the city in your own time. Immerse yourself in the bustle of the exciting capital!
Day 4: Mendoza
Today take a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Mendoza. On arrival you will be met and shown to your hotel in this beautiful wine region!
Day 5: Mendoza
Today embark on a wonderul wine tour in Mendoza. Depart to the south of Mendoza, among stunning vineyards and trellises you will see the sheer beauty of the first fine wine producing area of the country, Lujan de Cuyo. In this area you will visit two wineries (one industrial and artisanal), where you will learn the secrets of winemaking and the art for a good tasting! Enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch partnered, of course, with the very best Argentinian wines!
Day 6: Mendoza
Today you have the day to relax and enjoy this stunning area in your own time. Embrace the laid back attitude of the area and discover what the wonderful, chilled out city of Mendoza has to offer.
Day 7: Mendoza - Salta
Transfer from your hotel in Mendoza to the airport for your short flight to Salta. On arrival transfer to your hotel in this wonderful area. After some time to freshen up, head out on a city tour of Salta: explore some areas of interest including The Cathedral (1855) Cultural Center America, Historical Museum of the North (Town Council) with exhibitions of sacred art and rooms dedicated to old traditional families of Salta, “San Francisco” Church and, “San Bernardo” Convent, and the monument to General Güemes. Ascend to “San Bernardo” Hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Head towards the outskirts and visit a summer village called “San Lorenzo”, characterized by the subtropical microclimate and lastly a visit the Artisan Market where craftsmen of the entire province show their original crafts.
Day 8: Salta
Your journey starts today from Salta city to the south, through route 68 traversing the Lerma Valley and its historical towns. You'll reach Quebrada de las Conchas (the Shell´s Gorge), where wind and water erosion has carved curious shapes on the rocks (The Amphitheater, Devil´s throat, The Toad, The Castles, among others). When you arrive to Cafayate, visit some great wineries famous for their production of Torrontes, with special characteristics due to the particularities of the climate and land. After lunch, return to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas (the Shells´ Gorge) and the Lerma Valley.
Day 9: Salta
Your tour today leaves from Salta, but really begins once arrived to Purmamarca Village where you can observe the incredible Seven Coloured Hill as well as the Church and the Craft Market on the square. Continue towards the town of Tilcara to visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera, and then cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera de la Coya Hill can be seen.
Visit Uquía and its churchand continue to Huma- huaca. After lunch observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Painter’s Palette) framing the town of Maimara. Continue to San Salvador de Jujuy. Finally, return to Salta through National Route N° 9 of abundant subtropical vegetation. The last stretch is: El Abra of Santa Laura, observing La Cienaga (The Swamp) dam, Las Maderas and Campo Alegre and returning to Salta through Vaqueros. This is an incredible journey with such amazing surroundings, it will take your breath away!
Day 10: Salta - Iguazú
Transfer from Salta to the airport for an internal flight to Iguazu. Spend the night at a hotel here.
Day 11: Iguazú
Today enjoy a full day excursion to see the Argentinian side of the spectacular Iguazu Falls: 275 waterfalls that reach an altitude of almost 260 feet. They were declared one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.The Lower Circuit is composed of a trail approximately 8 miles long that allows you to get close to some of the smaller waterfalls on the Argentinian side. Walk along the trail, and get close to the Carlos Bozzetti Waterfall. The Upper Circuit allows you to see the top of the majestic falls on the Argentina side and enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of the area. Optional Tour (not included): Get up very close to the waterfalls on the ‘Great Adventure’ boat trip. Make sure you take a change of clothing as you will get wet!
Day 12: Iguazú - Departure
Today you will leave Argentina and cross the border into Iguaçu National Park on the Brazilian side of the Falls. Here you'll get a close-up view of Devil´s Throat, which is best seen from the Brazilian side. Watch as 14 falls drop 350 feet! This area is famous for its picturesque rainbow. For a close-up of the falls, walk through the park’s subtropical forest to the base of Salto Floriano. Then take the elevator to the top of the falls, or walk out over the falls at Salto Union. After the tour, take a transfer to the airport for your onward journey.

Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
