The Very Best of Chile


We start this tour of the very best bits of Chile in its vibrant capital Santiago, where you will be treated to half a days city tour of some of the best sights Santiago has to offer. A great way to kick off your Chilean adventure.

From Santiago you will take a short flight North to Calma - the closest airport to the world famous Atacama desert. From the town of San Pedro de Atacama, you can easily reach the Moon valley in the Salt Mountains, one of the best places to see the sunset in the world!

The incredible salt flats are next on the tour. On everybody's bucket list, this beautiful natural phenomenon is a sight you will never forget! With wild flamingos bathing in small saline lagoons, this place is a paradise.

You have some time here to explore as much as you can before returning to Santiago for an onward flight. This time you are flying South to Puerto Montt, where you will get an amazing city tour of the areas famous sights before taking a boat on the river Petrohué getting a fantastic look at the majestic Osorno volcano.

On leaving Puerto Montt, you travel to Puerto Natales for some breath-taking landscapes and exceptional geographical features. You have some time to enjoy here and take part in any activities you may want to, or just relax is this fantastic setting!

You then return to Santiago for your last night in Chile to sample some excellent cuisine and nightlife before you flight home in the morning.


Day 1: Arrival - Santiago
Today you will be met at Santiago airport and transfer to your hotel. You will then embark on an amazing half-day panoramic city tour of Santiago’s main attractions, rich history and modern, impressive buildings. La Moneda presidential palace, Plaza de Armas main square, Santa Lucía Hill, the Metropolitan Park, and the affluent residential districts of Vitacura and Las Condes are part of this unforgettable ride.

Day 2: Santiago - Calama - San Pedro de Atacama
After breakfast at your hotel, you will travel to the airport to board a flight to the city of Calama, where you will be met for a short journey to the town of San Pedro de Atacama. This evening, you will see the sunset from the best spot in northern Chile: the Moon valley in the Salt Mountains, truly magical.

Day 3: San Pedro de Atacama
Spend the morning visiting Chile’s largest salt deposit the Atacama salt flat, with an extension of 3000km and located between the Andes and the Domeyko mountain range.
This vast expanse of white is dotted with small saline lagoons in shades of blue, turquoise, pink or grey look out flamingoes!

This is followed by a Visit to the traditional town of Toconao where you will stay for the night.

Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama
You have the whole day free to relax and explore the area.

Day 5: San Pedro de Atacama - Calama - Santiago
This morning, transfer to the Calama airport to board flight back to Santiago.

Day 6: Santiago - Puerto Montt - Puerto Varas
Today you will take a short flight to the city of Puerto Montt where you will be taken to your hotel opposite the beautiful Lake Llanquihue.

In the afternoon you will go on a fascinating city tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas.

Day 7: Puerto Varas
Morning trip to Petrohué, skirting Lake Llanquihue under the gaze of the mighty Osorno volcano. Followed by a boat trip across beautiful Lake Todos los Santos to Peulla.

Return to Puerto Varas in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening in this sublime setting.

Day 8: Puerto Montt - Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales
Today you’ll firstly transfer from the hotel to the airport to board flight to Punta Arenas. On arrival you’ll be met and travel to Puerto Natales, where you will be shown your hotel for the evening for a well-deserved rest!

Day 9: Puerto Natales
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have a full-day visit to Torres del Paine National Park and the Cave of the Milodon, a breath-takingly stunning landscape home to some impressive rock formations and mountain ranges.

Day 10: Puerto Natales
You have the whole day at leisure to enjoy this spellbinding landscape. Talk to us about any activities you may want to take part in whilst here.

Day 11: Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas - Santiago
After breakfast it’s back to Santiago where you can enjoy your last day and night in Chile in this fantastic city!

    International Flights
    Getting to Chile is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Tango Tours are experienced in planning flights and we are very happy to advise you on the different choices available. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    Internal Flights
    As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
