Escape to Easter Island
OverviewYour adventure begins in the exciting capital Santiago where you will get a tour of the city to see some of its famous sights. You stay in a hotel in the city this evening to soak up the vibrant atmosphere!
In the morning you fly to the world famous Easter Island where you will get the opportunity to visit the Akahanga archaeological center, the Rano Raraku volcano and the quarry where most of the Island’s Moai statues were carved. You will also visit Ahu Tongariki, where these colossal statues were strewn about by the tsunami of 1960. There are over 300 monuments in various stages of construction: one of them is 21 meters tall, the equivalent of a seven-story building!!
You will then see the Rano Kau volcano and the ceremonial city of Orongo, famous for its petroglyphs, Vinapu and two Ahu, have a half-day visit to Ahu Akivi, with its seven famous Moai looking out into the sea, followed by the amazing Ana Tepahu caves.
Via Santiago, you then travel to Punta Arenas taking in a full city tour before travelling onward to Puerto Natales: home to the amazing Torres del Paine National Park and the Cave of the Milodon. You will get a full day tour taking you around this natural wilderness. The following day you then visit Balmaceda y Serrano Glaciers which are in the same region as the national park, a spectacle of nature these amazing sheets of ice, protrude form the water!
You will stay at a luxury hotel in Puerto Natales before travelling back to Santiago for one last night before your flight home, but we know you'll be back!
Day 1: Arrival - Santiago
Arrive at Santiago airport and transfer to hotel. You will then embark on an amazing half-day panoramic city tour of Santiago’s main attractions, rich history and modern, impressive buildings. La Moneda presidential palace, Plaza de Armas main square, Santa Lucía Hill, the Metropolitan Park, and the affluent residential districts of Vitacura and Las Condes are part of this unforgettable ride.
Day 2: Santiago - Easter Island
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to airport to board a flight to Easter Island!
Day 3: Easter Island
Full-day visit to the Akahanga archaeological center, the Rano Raraku volcano and the quarry where most of the Island’s Moai statues were carved. You will also visit Ahu Tongariki, where these colossal statues were strewn about by the tsunami of 1960.
Day 4: Easter Island
Breakfast at hotel before a half-day tour of the Rano Kau volcano and the ceremonial city of Orongo, famous for its petroglyphs, Vinapu and two Ahu.
Half-day visit to Ahu Akivi, with its seven famous Moai looking out into the sea, followed by the Ana Tepahu caves.
Day 5: Easter Island - Santiago
Today you fly back to Santiago and stay in a hotel in the centre for the night.
Day 6: Santiago - Punta Arenas
This morning, transfer to airport for your flight to Punta Arenas
Day 7: Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales
Today starts with a City tour of Punta Arenas, then a transfer to the bus station to travel to Puerto Natales where you will stay for the evening.
Day 8: Puerto Natales
Today you embark on a full-day visit to Torres del Paine National Park and the Cave of the Milodon, stopping for a picinic in this fantastic setting.
Day 9: Puerto Natales
After breakfast you visit the incredible Balmaceda y Serrano Glaciers for the whole day before returning to your hotel for the evening.
Day 10: Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas - Santiago
Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to the airport to board your flight to Santiago where you will have the rest of the evening to make the most of your final day in Chile!
Day 11: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Getting to Chile is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
