OverviewYour Ecuador adventure begins in the vibrant capital Quito, where you will enjoy a full tour of a number of great sights in this lively capital full of artistic, scenic and colonial wonders! You will then take a short flight over to the islands where you have the night to relax before seeing the highlands of Santa Cruz and the home of the Giant Tortoises! These majestic beasts are a sight to behold.
The following day you board a cruise around the islands to reach some places that are so protected for their natural beauty that not many people get to visit them!
You have one more day to soak in the serene atmosphere and pure beauty of the magnificent landscape by a visit to Tortuga Bay - located to the southwest of Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island. Here you will visit the Galapagos National Park Service and The Charles Darwin Research Station, two fascinating sites that will really open your eyes to where you are and the significance these islands have had in the past!

Day 1: Arrival - Quito
Welcome to Quito and Ecuador! At the airport you will be greeted by a guide who will take you to your hotel.
Day 2: Quito
Today you will enjoy a city tour of scenic, colonial and artistic Quito! Quito’s colonial quarter, the largest and best preserved of South America, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will stroll at the Independence Plaza, flanked by the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Municipal Building and the Archbishop’s Palace. Visit the temple of La Compañía de Jesús and its impressive gilded interior.The tour ends at a lookout point with a great view of Quito.
Day 3: Quito - Galapagos
This morning you will get a private transfer from Quito to your Galapagos flight for a short flight over to the islands!
Day 4: Galapagos
You have the whole day free to explore this amazing landscape today! We recommend you see the highlands of Santa Cruz Island and the giant tortoises, visiting El Manzanillo at the northern edge of the Giant Tortoise Reserve. It’s a real treat watching these gentle giants slowly barrel their way through the plant cover! The area is teeming with life with woodpeckers, mockingbirds and flycatchers, as well as ducks, herons and gallinules make this an exciting visit.
Day 5: Galapagos
Today we recommend taking a cruise around the islands- due to conservation reasons, these licensed day trips are the only way to reach some of the most spectacular islands in the Galápagos! So is well worth a trip on an island yacht!
Day 6: Galapagos
You have another day to explore this fantastic wilderness. Today we recommend a visit to Tortuga Bay - located to the southwest of Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island. Its name means “turtle”, and the island received this moniker because it is the sea turtles favorite place to lay their eggs! The stunning white sandy beach is considered by many the most beautiful in the Galapagos archipelago. The headquarters of the Galapagos National Park Service and The Charles Darwin Research Station are located side by side on the outskirts of Puerto Ayora. These are fascinating centres that help you track Darwin’s footsteps understand more about the islands!
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, you will travel back to the airport for your onward flight!

Getting to Ecuador is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your tour. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
