Classic Cuba


Experience the history, culture and nature this paradise has to offer. Fly into the vibrant capital Havana where you will spend the night before heading to the beautiful city of Pinar del Rio. Visit the rum factory, walk through the stunning UNESCO site - Valley of Viñales and enjoy a cocktail and a great view overlooking the tobacco plantations in Casa del Veguero.

A short journey brings you to Cienfuegos for a sightseeing tour and dinner, before heading off the Trinidad in the morning. The city of Trinidad is truly beautiful - named a UNESCO heritage sight. Take a tour of the city, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Camagüey - you have the evening in Camagüey for an optional tour, cocktails and dinner welcoming you to the city!

Santiago De Cuba - 'the second city'! You will spend some time here in the city wondering around some of its incredible historical sites and buildings, including a visit to small community who live just off the coast in houses on stilts! Passing through the La Farola Viaduct, you travel along the Caribbean coastline to Baracoa. Here, take a boat trip on the Toa river, the longest river in Cuba.On route from Baracoa to Holguin you stop in at Saetía - to go on safari a large game reserve where you can see a whole host of wild animals running free!

You travel to Playa Pesquero where you will be staying in a all inclusive resort right by the beach. With plenty of opportunity to go swimming, snorkelling, see some historical sights, go on a boat ride, eat fresh lobster or just relax with a Mojito, this place is amazing!

You will then head back to Havana for a full city tour before heading to the airport for your onward flight, but we know you'll be back!


Day 1: Arrival - Havana
On arrival in Havana, you will transfer to a hotel in the Historic Centre for the night.

Day 2: Havana - Viñales - Havana
Today you have the chance to see one of the most beautiful, authentic and natural places in Cuba. You will be picked up at the hotel and depart for the city of Pinar del Rio. Visit the Rum Factory "Guava del Pinar" and walk through the beautiful Valley of Viñales, declared a Cultural Landscape Protected by UNESCO and a National Natural Monument. Visit the Casa del Veguero, where you can enjoy a welcome cocktail, and visit the tobacco plantations. Then you see Mirador de Los Jazmines – which offers a beautiful view of the Viñales Valley. Next, visit the Indian Cave with a boat ride on the river that runs inside the cave itself, before lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, visit the Mural of Prehistory showing the process of evolution of life in the Sierra de los Órganos from mollusk to the first indigenous inhabitants. Return to your hotel in Havana.

Day 3: Havana - Montemar Park - Cienfuegos
Departure to Montemar Park, the largest wetland in the Caribbean located around 3 hours from Havana. Visit the Crocodile Farm here before a visit to 'Aldea Taina' (optional activity). Aldea Taina is a fascinating reconstructed traditional village, with life size dwellings and native dance shows! Travel on to Cienfuegos, and take a sightseeing tour of the city before dinner.

Day 4: Cienfuegos - Trinidad
This morning travel to the beautiful, traditional city of Trinidad which has been declared an UNESCO world heritage site. Embark on a panoramic city tour seeing all the sights including: The Romantic Museum and the famous bar Canchánchara. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and then you have the afternoon free to enjoy this great city.

Day 5: Trinidad - Camaguey
Today begins with a visit to Manaca Iznaga in the center of the Sugar Mills Valley. This area was once the most prosperous in Cuba and still retains its splendor through the cultivation and production of cane sugar and offers breath-taking views of the Valley. In the afternoon, depart to Camagüey stopping for a short tour of the city of Sancti Spiritus – ‘Holy spirit’. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before you arrive in Camaguey for dinner (not included). Optional Activity: ‘Special welcome to Camagüey’ - A warm welcome where you can follow in the footsteps of the founders of the town. Visit squares and churches, buildings of outstanding historical and cultural value and learn more about traditions and legends that have been preserved throughout the city. You can also enjoy dining at the restaurant 1800 – voted one of the best 10 restaurants in Cuba, and stop for a cocktail at the Casa de la Trova Emilio Ballagas – a famous bar for cocktails and Cuban music.

Day 6: Camagüey - Bayamo - Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast, depart for Santiago de Cuba – the second largest city in Cuba. Stop en route for lunch in Bayamo - the second oldest city in Cuba, founded in 1513 by Diego Velasquez. Make one more stop at 'Sanctuary of El Cobre' – a beautiful basilica dedicated to ‘Our Lady of Charity’. On arrival in Santiago de Cuba, enjoy dinner in your hotel.

Day 7: Santiago de Cuba
Explore Cuba’s second most important city through a full city tour. With a rich history and electric music scene, Santiago De Cuba was the heart of the revolution and is a joy to visit. Visit the Antique Car Museum and Morro de Santiago fortress before lunch at Cayo Granma – a small population of pretty houses on stilts just off the coast! In the afternoon visit the Moncada Barracks, Céspedes Park, the Pirate Museum, Santa Ifigenia Cemetery and finally Casa de Diego Velazquez – the oldest house in Cuba. Return to the hotel for dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 8: Santiago de Cuba - Baracoa
After breakfast, depart to Baracoa through the extraordinary La Farola Viaduct, on the way enjoy unbeatable views of the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and rural life in this region. On arrival, visit Matachín Fortin Museum - an ancient fort where English pirates were taken prisoner in 1807. Have lunch at Rancho Toa, next to the river, followed by a boat ride along the Toa River- the largest river in Cuba. Transfer to your hotel for the evening.

Day 9: Baracoa - Cayo Saetía - Holguín
This morning, you’ll travel to Holguin on the north coast. En route visit Cayo Saetía - the largest game reserve in the country. Here you’ll to embark on an exciting jeep safari between forests and meadow where you can see animals found in complete freedom - zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, bulls, wild horses, wild pigs, camels, giraffes and ostriches! Have lunch at a nearby beach hut, followed by some free time to swim before continuing on to Holguín. This evening in Holguin, visit La Loma de la Cruz- ‘hill of the cross’ that looks over the city. Have dinner in a restaurant nearby, then enjoy some traditional Cuban music and sample delicious Mojitos at Casa de la Trova El Guayabero, a famous bar for sampling Cuban nightlife!

Day 10: Holguin - Playa Pesquero
Today take a tour of the city of Holguin known as the Cuban ‘city of the parks’, visit La Periquera – a beautiful neoclassical building, the former headquarters of the Spanish troops, and tour the main parks and cathedrals of Holguin. Have lunch back at Loma de la Cruz, the symbol of the city. In the afternoon, transfer to Playa Pesquero - a stunning resort on the coast. Accommodation is all inclusive, so spend the afternoon enjoying the incredible facilities and delicious cuisine.

Day 11: Playa Pesquero
After breakfast, visit the National Monument Park Cayo Bariay Place, where Admiral Christopher Columbus famously discovered the Americas. Next explore the Spanish fort that guarded the entrance to the House Forester, and see an Aboriginal Village where an artistic show is performed by professional actors. After lunch at a Colombo restaurant in Key Bariay, return to the hotel with the afternoon free to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and amazing resort facilities.

Day 12: Playa Pesquero
You have the whole day to relax on the stunning, pristine beaches making the most of your last days in Cuba! Optional Activity today: Crucero del Sol – take a catamaran ride out into the spectacularly clear ocean. You have a chance to swim with dolphins in Cayo Naranjo, snorkel in the coral reef, swim in the crystal waters and relax with an open bar and delicious lunch!

Day 13: Playa Pesquero - Havana
You have the morning free, after lunch travel back to Havana and transfer to your hotel for the evening.

Day 14: Havana & Departure
Explore the capital city today with a morning city tour of Havana. Visit the outer areas of Morro Cabaña Park – an impressive fortress that sits at the entrance to the city. This is followed by a walking tour through the old town and lunch in a typical Cuban restaurant. Continue through the streets of Old Havana stopping at El Capitol and the world-famous Plaza de la Revolución. Head back to the hotel, ready to be transferred the airport for your onward flight.

    International Flights
    Getting to Cuba is straightforward from most areas of the world, and for this particular tour, flights are included so you don't have to worry about a thing! Tango Tours are experienced in planning flights and we are very happy to inform you of the flights we book for our customers. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, your tour is protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.

    To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
