This isn’t your standard lying on a beach holiday (but there is always time for that too!) this is about getting to the real heart of a country and what better place to do it than beautiful Brazil!
Day 1: Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in Rio. Private transfer with guide to your hotel. Free day to relax.
Day 2: Rio de Janeiro - Corcovado & Sugar Loaf with BBQ lunch
Depart from the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous landmarks of the city and see the natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro from up above. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon you will arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. Embark on a comfortable train that ascends the mountain, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer stands. Upon arrival at the top, you can use the panoramic elevators or escalators to arrive at the foot of the statute. Descend the mountain and stop for a delicious Brazilian Barbecue lunch. ‘Pão de Açúcar’ (Sugar Loaf Mountain) is your next stop. The journey to the top is made in glass cable-cars, the first taking you to the top of Urca Hill offering spectacular views of the entire bay and its surrounding islands. From Urca Hill, you continue in a second cable-car to the top of Sugar Loaf which rises 395 meters above sea level!
Day 3: Rio de Janeiro - Jeep Tour Corcovado Tijuca Forest Santa Teresa
You will be collected from your hotel in an open-top jeep. Make your way to a panoramic tour in Santa Teresa - a traditional neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. From there you will reach Corcovado Hill and also stop at the Dona Marta belvedere so you can admire the views. The tour continues up Paineiras road until the Tijuca Forest, an area of Atlantic Rainforest environmentally preserved and only 10 minutes from the city center of Rio de Janeiro, thus making it one of the largest urban forest areas in the world. You can go for a short stroll on a trail up to the Cascatinha Falls before returning to your hotel through Canoas Road and Pepino beach.
Day 4: Rio de Janeiro
You have the whole day to relax and enjoy the city in your own time. Why not explore some of Rio’s world-renowned cuisine why your are here?
Day 5: Iguazú
Private transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Iguazú. On arrival, private transfer from the airport to you hotel in Iguazú and you have the rest of the day free.
Day 6: Iguazú - Brazilian Falls & Bird Park
You will be collected at your hotel and head towards the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. En route to the falls, you will drive through the lush, subtropical vegetation of the park. After arrival, take a descending trail of the canyon, from where you can enjoy panoramic views of more than 240 falls! Board a glass elevator, which takes you to a platform where more exquisite views will be revealed. After some time admiring the falls, head to the Bird Park - this is a world-class standard park situated in 4 hectares of second-growth subtropical forest. There are over 500 species here- both indigenous and from other continents! Enjoy walking around this paradise this afternoon.
Day 7: Iguazú
Today take a tour through the Park on the sightseeing train. You will walk to the highest point of the falls and amongst the abundant nature filled with orchids, colorful birds and other wildlife, enjoy the spectacularly unique views of the ‘Cataratas’. Next is The Great Adventure Boat Tour! Led by experienced and knowledgeable guides, start by entering the jungle from the “Sendero Yacaratía” trail. After an 8 km truck ride you will head out in motorboats on a ride through the Canyon of the Iguassu River, through the rapids and up to the falls themsleves. After enjoying the view from the calm side of the San Martin Island, you will move on to the 'Three Musketeers' Waterfall, where the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of the Garganta do Diabo (Devil’s Throat) waterfall can be clearly appreciated. Afterwards, sail along the shore of the island until you get to the wonderful San Martin waterfall - the largest waterfall any motorboat can approach safely.
Day 8: Iguazú - Manaus
Private transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. Private transfer from airport to your hotel on arrival and the evening free to relax.
Day 9: Manaus
Transfer from your hotel to the airport. Reception upon arrival at the airport. Transfer to Amazon Ecopark with your guide. After you arrive, you will visit the amazing Monkey Forest. Depart from the lodge on a boat or motorized canoe and after visiting a native’s house some fishing may be done. Return to the lodge for dinner and then embark on a night tour in canoe, with the possibility to spot small alligators (or other nightly creatures!).
Day 10: Manaus
After breakfast, you will go on a nature hike. During the tour, the guide will talk you through the local flora/fauna, how and where to find edible fruits and potable water, first aid, how to find your way in the forest and much more! Then you will have lunch, before going on a fishing tour. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 11: Manaus
After breakfast today depart for a tour of Meeting of the Waters, the spectacular merge of Negro and Solimões Rivers. The phenomenon happens due to differences in temperature, density and speed of the waters of the rivers. Depending on the level of the waters, a visit to a typical "caboclo " (local inhabitants) villa will be included (at Terra Nova Island) during this full day tour.
Day 12: Manaus - Salvador
Transfer back to Manaus with an English speaking guide for your flight to Salvador. Transfer with guide to your hotel in Salvador.
Day 13: Salvador - Schooner Cruise with Lunch
After your transfer from the hotel, board a comfortable schooner boat and cruise to two of the 36 islands in this sparkling bay! This day of rest and relaxation is great to spend some time together and offers lovely views of the city. Your first stop is Frades (or Monk's) Island. Virtually uninhabited, the island is home to some of the best beaches in the bay. Here you have time to swim in the warm inviting waters, or relax in the sun! Continue the cruise to the larger Itaparica Island for lunch. Return to the schooner, raise anchor and set off for Salvador with the setting sun flooding the city with its warm, romantic glow! This evening is something a little special -the Bahia Folklore Company (Balé Folclórico da Bahia) who will perform a selection of sacred dances including an acrobatic stick and sword dance, capoeira - a martial art/dance of Angolan origin and the samba de roda, a spinning, swirling version of this exuberant national dance!
Day 14: Salvador
You will be picked up by your guide to visit the principal attractions of the Historical Centre of Salvador. Strolling along the cobbled stone streets of the colonial district, flanked by houses in pastel shades, you visit the exuberant São Francisco Church, the most ornate Baroque churches in Brazil and the nearby imposing Cathedral. Continue to the Municipal Square towering above the Lower City offering wonderful views of the of the All Saints Bay. Return to the hotel on foot accompanied by your guide. You then have the evening free to enjoy your final days in Brazil.
Day 15: Departure
Today you have the whole day free to relax and enjoy the area in your own time before your private transfer with guide to the airport for your onward flight.

As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
