In Ushuaia, the surroundings are just spectacular and well worth the trip this far South! Visiting the highlights of Teirra del Fuego National Park, you will really get a feel for this magical place! Both on foot and by vehicle, explore this amazing and unique area.
From Ushuaia, head to El Calafate - famously home to the world-renowned Perito Moreno Glacier! Get to see this incredible sight both from viewpoints and close up by boat to really understand the sheer size of this magnificent force of nature! The bright blue ice and booming sounds of it shifting is like nothing else you will have ever experienced!
The last stop of this epic Patagonia tour is the stunning lake district - Bariloche. A very different landscape to Ushuaia and El Calafate, this area boasts shimmering blue waters framed by snow-capped towering peaks! Hike, kayak and sight-see by car in this serene and beautiful part of the world!
Day 1: Arrival - Buenos Aires
Today you arrive in Buenos Aires! Your guide will be waiting for you in the Airport and you will be taken to your hotel in the centre of the city. The rest of the day is yours to explore this exciting city.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
After breakfast you will have a full city tour of the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, where you will see a multitude of historical monuments, colonial architecture and atmospheric neighbourhoods. With the afternoon to relax and explore the city by yourself you can really immerse yourself in its charms. In the evening you will be treated to a professional tango show and 3-course dinner - your first taste of incredible Argentinian cuisine!
Day 3: Buenos Aires - Trelew - Puerto Madryn
Take a private transfer to the domestic airport for your flight down to Trelew. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel.
Day 4: Puerto Madryn
Depart early in the morning towards the Provincial Wildlife Reserve Peninsula Valdes, UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a one-hour drive you arrive in Puerto Piramides, where you can take a boat tour (optional) to do whale watching of Southern Right Whales between June and December, and of Southern Sea lions and cormorants between January and March. There is no navigation in Puerto Piramides during April and May.
Around noon leave for Punta Delgada where you have the chance of walking down to the beach to take a closer look of the elephant seals. Then depart for Punta Cantor to observe the peninsula’s Atlantic coastline. After the observation and interpretation of the coastal geology, drive back to the Ameghino Isthmus for a tour of the Visitor Centre. Along the way you have good chance of viewing animals such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, cavies, armadillos and skunks, among others. Another adventure in Peninsular Valdes is the amazing opportunity to watch Whales by by Yellow Submarine! The semi-submersible submarine Yellow Submarine allows you to watch whales submersed in their environment. Underwater, the perspective looks completely different, which is comparable only to the experience of diving among them - truly magical!
Day 5: Puerto Madryn - Trelew - Ushuaia
Take a transfer from your hotel to Trelew airport for your internal flight to Ushuaia. On arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel. You then have the evening free at leisure.
Day 6: Ushuaia
Today enjoy a natural and tranquil trip. Go through the main and most important parts of the stunning Teirra del Fuego National Park. Along the walk today you will have a very special panorama of the unique ecosystem of the Tierra del Fuego. The guides will give you an experience filled with the passion they have for these locations, creating an unforgettable moments. Bahia Lapataia, the Lago Roca, the Beagle channel and the Bahia Ensenada are some of the places that will be visited in this - the Southernmost park in the world!
Day 7: Ushuaia
Depart this morning, via national route 3, arriving at the coastal zone, bordering the river valley Lasifashaj, almost at the mouth of the Beagle Channel in Brown Bay. The first activity of this trip is to board a zodiac to go and visit a colony of Megellanic and Shentoo penguins. After you learn more about them and watch them go about their daily life, head back to an estancia (ranch) where you will learn about its fascinating history and present day workings. In the afternoon begin to walk along the coast of the river Lasifashaj, there is a unique waterfall here that is the product of the narrowing of the river valley. Enjoy the unique solitude and unforgettable landscapes here.
Day 8: Ushuaia – El Calafate
Take a private transfer to the airport for your short flight to El Calafate. Relax in your hotel this evening.
Day 9: El Calafate
Today embark on a highlight of the trip: a visit to Perito Moreno Glacier including a safari boat trip! During the trip you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the Andean foothills, along the south bank of Lake Argentino. After crossing the river Centinela and Mitre, enter National Park Los Glaciares. Start to spot the icebergs floating on the water until the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier appears - a true wonder of nature! Later this afternoon take a voyage of around one hour on the Lake Rico where you can appreciate the majestic south wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. This glacier ice wall is about 60m high and 100m below lake level and is not visible from the land, so the trip is well worth it!
Day 10: El Calafate – Bariloche
Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Bariloche. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 11: Bariloche
Your tour today explores the stunning lakes of Bariloche by hiking, kayaking a sightseeing! An action packed day that shows you the very best of this stunning area. Kayaks and guides will be ready and you will have an easy introduction about paddling skills, safety instruction, all the kayak gear and an itinerary briefing in order to start paddling on lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno discovering its coasts and hidden bays where most of the people have no access. After lunch, continue paddling a little bit more to reach the walking trail and begin the hiking stage. This will take you up to the impressive viewpoints of Tristeza Branch and its incredible panoramic points where you can see most of lake Nahuel Huapi, its islands, neighbouring hills and the back the magnificent Mount Tronador, with its glaciers and endless snow of the Andes. Decend the trail and board a vehicle from which continues to discover the beauty of Bariloche and the lake district. The tour has a short pause in the panoramic viewpoint of “Punto Panorámico”.
Day 12: Bariloche
You have the morning at leisure before taking a boat ride this afternoon! After a voyage of around 11 km, you arrive to Puerto Anchorena in Victoria Island. You can hike and walk around this spectacular island. Board a chairlift that will take you to the summit of Cerro Bella Vista for spectacular natural viewpoints. On the Puerto Quetrihue peninsula can visit the world famous Myrtle Forest - this is a unique arboreal formation with ancient trees. It has white flowers similar to orange blossom and violet fruits of pleasant taste. The Myrtle Forest has been declared untouchable area and Natural Monument.
Day 13: Bariloche - Buenos Aires
Say goodbye to Bariloche as you transfer to the airport for you short flight back to Buenos Aires ready for your onward travel.

In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that flight tickets are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights for you if required. For some itineraries, you need to arrive at a particular destination at a required time/date therefore, it is vital that you book the correct flights and times of arrival. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
