Get to the heart of Mexico City, the buzzing capital, San Cristóbal de las Casas for local authentic markets and the beautiful 'White City' of Merida.
Mayan magic is in the air! Discover some incredible archaeological sites such as the Templo Mayor, the great temple of the Aztec capital, Teotihuacán, named by the Aztecs as “the place where the Gods are born”, 'Palenque' - surrounded by the lush Chiapanecan jungle, Uxmal or “built in three stages” and the iconic Chichén Itzá - the Mayan capital of Yucatán.
Enojy some beautiful landscapes and surroundings as you travel around, such as Agua Azul (Blue Water) waterfalls and take a boat ride through the Cañón del Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon)- a fantastic way to explore this beautiful place.
Towards the end of your trip, enjoy the stunning Riviera Maya; check in to your hotel by the beautiful golden beach, spending some time relaxing on the sands or enjoying some activities before indulging in all inclusive, luxury treatment and excellent food- a perfect way to end this lovely little trip to Mexico.

This is an international group tour. On arrival, you will meet up with the rest of your group who are travellers from all over the world! This is a great way to meet new people from different cultures and enjoy your experiences with a group of like-minded individuals! If you would prefer to do this tour privately with just you and your group then get in touch!
Day 1: Arrival - Mexico City
Today you arrive in magical Mexico City! Your guide will be waiting for you in the airport and you will be taken to your hotel in the centre of the city. The rest of the day is yours to explore this exciting city.
Day 2: Mexico City
After breakfast in your hotel you embark upon on full City Tour of Mexico City which includes: Plaza de la Constitución, followed by The Palacio Nacional (National Palace) - the headquarters of the Presidency of Mexico, Templo Mayor, the great temple of the Aztec capital and a brief stop at the Guadalupe Shrine. The tour continues to Teotihuacán, named by the Aztecs as “the place where the Gods are born”. This location has three great constructions: The Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon and the Citadel. After lunch in the City you have the rest of the day and evening to explore this fast-paced, exciting capital!
Day 3: Mexico City - Tuxtla Gutierrez - San Cristóbal de las Casas
Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital of the State of Chiapas. You will then be transferred to the Cahuaré wharf to enjoy a boat trip through the Cañón del Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon), the altitude and the beauty of this place is an incredible experience. After that the tour continues to San Cristóbal de las Casas, where you will be shown to your hotel for the evening.
Day 4: San Cristóbal de las Casas
In the morning visit a typically Mexican market, where hundreds of local people sell their hand-made products every day. You will have some time to peruse the handicrafts and chat with the local people. The tour continues to the beautiful Baroque Santo Domingo Church, founded in 1547. You will then have a chance to meet the Indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán; the San Juan Chamula community is particularly linked to this church where ceremonies were celebrated that had a great influence of paganism. Return to San Cristóbal for some local cuisine and to relax for the evening.
Day 5: San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque
This morning you will departure for Palenque stopping along the way at the Agua Azul (Blue Water) waterfalls. The trip will last approximately 5 hours on a mountain road, where you can enjoy the abundant vegetation of this Chiapanecan area and stopping for lunch in a rustic restaurant. On arrival in Palenque, you will be shown to your hotel and have the rest of the evening to relax.
Day 6: Palenque - Campeche
Today begins with a visit to the Palenque archaeological site, this area displays beautiful Mayan work made in stone and stucco and is frequently recognized as one of Mexico’s most beautiful places due to its ruins enclosed in the Chiapanecan jungle. You will visit its most important temple- Templo de las Inscripciones (Temple of the Inscriptions) before lunch. In the afternoon the tour will move on to Campeche. Where you will visit the ancient town, surrounded by fort walls and towers built to protect it from pirates! After visiting the city, you'll be taken to your hotel for the evening.
Day 7: Campeche - Uxmal - Mérida
After breakfast you will begin travelling to Mérida. On the way the tour stops at the famous Uxmal archaeological site. Lunch in restaurant in Uxmal, then the tour continues heading to Mérida, also known as the “White City.
You'll stop at Mérida’s Zócalo, to dmire the city’s main monuments: the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Francisco Montejo’s House, before checking in at your hotel.
Day 8: Mérida-Chichen Itzà - Riviera Maya
Depart from your hotel this morning for a visit to the Chichén Itzá archaeological site where you can admire the impressive buildings of the northern and central sites, such as: the Kukulcán Temple, the Ball Game, the Observatory, the Warrior’s Temple, the Convent of the Nuns and the Sacred Cenote. Lunch at Chichén Itzá in restaurant. The tour then continues on to Riviera Maya for the rest of the afternoon where you can do a number of optional water sport activities or just relax on the beach with a cocktail! It's up to you. The night is spend in a luxury hotel near the beach.
Day 9: Departure
We know you won't want to, but it's time to say Adiós to Mexico as you transfer to Cancun airport for your onward flight. We know you'll be back to see more soon!

Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your trip. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation and is non-refundable.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights booked with us. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
