OverviewAfter a short internal flight South to Santiago de Cuba, take a tour of this vibrant and exciting 'second city' - what a way to kick off your adventure! After some time to explore (and enjoy the cities renowned nightlife!) continue to the traditional city of Bayamo - older than both Havana and Santiago de Cuba and often missed by usual tourist routes!
Relax and explore for the evening in Camagüey and in the morning continue to the UNESCO declared city of Trinidad. En route travel through the spectacular ‘Valley of the Ingenios’ stopping at various points of interest in the incredible region.
You have some time to explore the 'must-see' city of Trinidad before your journey to Cienfuegos, a city known as ‘The Pearl of the South!’. Enjoy the city and the nearby Guamá ecological park before heading to Havana or Varadero where you can extend your trip with a city break in Havana or a well-deserved beach break!
Day 1: Havana - Santiago De Cuba
Transfer to the airport in Havana for your internal flight to Holguin. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Santiago de Cuba. After dinner at the hotel, you have the rest of the evening free to relax and explore.
Day 2: Santiago De Cuba
Today enjoy a city tour of the second most important city in Cuba. Santiago de Cuba is a city steeped in history and music, it is the capital of the East and was an important part of the Cuban Revolution. With its distinctive Afro-Cuban culture, this city is an off-the-beaten-track gem that cannot be missed! After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the Moncada Barracks, Céspedes Park, Morro Castle, Santa Ifigenia Cemetery and Diego Velásquez House. After dinner at the hotel, the evening is yours to enjoy the city.
Day 3: Santiago De Cuba – Bayamo - Camagüey
Older than both Havana and Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo is like stepping back in time! Known for its serene atmosphere and pretty streets, take some time here to relax. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant before continuing to Camagüey for dinner at your hotel. The rest of the evening is free for you to explore in your own time.
Day 4: Camagüey - Trinidad
Travel through the pretty, colourful city of Ciego de Avila. Stop for Lunch at a local restaurant before continuing onto the city of Sancti Spíritus (‘city of the holy spirit’). Enjoy a tour visiting a number of sights of interest in this beautiful and fascinating city before continuing your journey towards Trinidad via the Manaca – Iznaga route. The spectacular ‘Valley of the Ingenios’ is a region that was once one of the most prosperous in Cuba. This area and still retains its splendour thanks to the cultivation and production of cane sugar. On arrival in Trinidad, enjoy dinner at your hotel and a relaxing evening.
Day 5: Trinidad – Cienfuegos
Declared an UNESCO heritage site, the stunning colonial city of Trinidad has a lot to offer! Visit the Plaza Mayor, the Romantic Museum, The Church of the Holy Trinity and Bar la Canchánchara for a typical welcome cocktail. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey to Cienfuegos where dinner will be served at your hotel.
Day 6: Cienfuegos - Guamá – Havana / Varadero
Cienfuegos, a city known as ‘The Pearl of the South!’ A city tour takes you to many of the sites in this beautiful city. before travelling to Montemar Park and Guamá. Located on the Zapata Peninsula, this intriguing area is home to an abundance of natural wonders - explore the area with your guide visiting many areas of interest including the fascinating Crocodile Hatchery. Following lunch at a local restaurant, continue on to Havana/Varadero.

Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your trip. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation and is non-refundable.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights booked with us. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
