Leaving Havana, you will travel to the beautiful 'Pearl of the South' Cienfuegos. Soak up the laid back atmosphere and enjoy breathtaking views of the bay.
Visit the world renowned UNESCO site of Trinidad for a fascinating tour before a stay in the nearby Sancti Spíritus ( or 'holy spirit'). The following day you have the opportunity to explore Cuba's stunning natural beauty as you pass through the Escambray mountain range - finally arriving in Santa Clara. Take a tour of this important revolutionary landmark before returning to Havana/ Varadero for your onward travel or to extend your experience!
Day 1: Havana
Enjoy a tour of the World Heritage Site of the Historic Centre of Old Havana, visiting Plaza de la Catedral, Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco de Asís and Plaza Vieja squares followed by lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue on your city tour visiting Central Park, Parque de la Fraternidad and Plaza de la Revolucion. Return to the hotel for a free evening to relax in your own time.
Day 2: Havana- Las Terrazas - Havana
Today, travel to an ecological project located in the Sierra de Rosario UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, located within the forested hills of Las Terrazas. It combines a small community of around 1200 people where buildings are designed to blend in with their surroundings. Visit Hacienda La Union, with it’s beautiful garden of tropical plants and the partially reconstructed ruins of the Cafetal Buenavista, a coffee plantation from the nineteenth century. Visit the local community including the People's Square and its socio-cultural facilities and a screen printing workshop and gallery. After lunch, you have time to relax in San Juan River, before returning to your hotel in Havana.
Day 3: Havana - Cienfuegos
After breakfast travel to the city of Cienfuegos, known as the ‘Pearl of the South’! Explore its beautiful streets and avenues founded by the French. Cienfuegos is located in a wonderful bay, where the largest coral of Cuba was discovered. During your visit, you will see the Martí Park, the Tomas Terry Theatre, Casa de Bienes Culturales and Cathedral of the Purísima Concepción. Following lunch at a local restaurant travel the coastal route through the bay of Cienfuegos arriving at your hotel for dinner.
Day 4: Cienfuegos - Trinidad - Sancti Spíritus
Declared an UNESCO heritage site, the atmospheric city of Trinidad has a lot to offer! Visit the Romantic Museum and Bar la Canchánchara for a typical welcome cocktail. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey to Sancti Spíritus where dinner will be served at your hotel.
Day 5: Sancti Spíritus - Santa Clara
Begin the day with a spectacular tour through the mountainous Escambray mountain range - one of the most important mountain ranges in the country. Pass through Manicaragua, where communities of cultivators produce famous Cuban tobacco and rich coffee; enjoy amazing views of lush green tobacco plantations in this area. Stop and take a refreshing walk along the blue waters of Lake Hanabanilla, Cuba's only mountain lake. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Santa Clara where dinner will be served at a local hotel.
Day 6: Santa Clara – Varadero / Havana
Explore Santa Clara - a beautiful city famous for its important revolutionary landmarks and the final resting place of Che Guevara. During the city tour visit Park of Carmen and Leoncio Vidal Park, Ernesto Che Guevara Square, where the famous ‘Mausoleum of Che’ is located, and the Armored Train monument. After lunch in Santa Clara, continue to Varadero or Havana.

Getting to Cuba is straightforward from most areas of the world, but you may find that the choice is bewildering, or you’re not sure about the easiest route. Tango Tours are experienced in planning flights and we are very happy to advise you on the different choices available. Because prices tend to increase closer to your departure date, we advise that you buy your international flight tickets as soon as you have made a decision about your trip. As an ATOL bonded tour operator, we can assist in your purchase of international flights. In fact, your entire tour can be protected under our ATOL licence by booking your international flight with us. Please note that 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation and is non-refundable.
As with international flights, Tango Tours' friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to book your internal flights. Our ATOL licence will protect your whole tour if your internal flights are purchased through us. Please note that flights are non-refundable and 100% of your flight ticket price is payable on tour confirmation.
To confirm your booking with Tango Tours, we require a payment of 20% of the ground-based arrangements and 100% of all flights booked with us. The remaining balance of your tour is then payable 10 weeks prior to departure. For any bookings made within these 10 weeks, the full amount is payable.
